May 2014 Report

Chayce’s Graduation

We are very proud of Chayce and his achievements.  Congratulations on graduating from ASU! Right on time I might add.  It was great that we could all be around to share the celebration with him.  Grandpa and Grandma were able to come for the ceremonies.   Lisa let her kids skip school to come and be with us as well.

ASU holds multiple graduation ceremonies.  Commencement for all graduates is held in the 78,000 seat football stadium for all 10,000 graduates and their families.  It was a nice 70 degree evening and it was a lot of fun to see all the kids enjoying their accomplishments.  The next day we attended his school’s convocation ceremony where Chayce’s name was read and pronounced correctly :) and he received his diploma.  Well okay and we all know it was his diploma holder, the actual degree to be mailed later.

Grandpa and Grandma’s visit coincided with Mothers Day.  So after the flower ceremony and bag O’ gifts, we headed up to a ghost town in the mountains north of Scottsdale.  It was a beautiful drive with awesome vistas.  The town (Jerome) is a cute artist community now with fun shops, good restaurants and interesting historic buildings.  From the town we had great views all the way to Sedona.IMG_1181

After their stay in Scottsdale with us Mom and Dad headed off for their big cross country drive.

We took Kim on a drive on the Apache Trail.  Chayce and I did it four years ago during his freshman year at ASU.  Boy how time flies.DSC_0232 DSC_0243 DSC_0239 DSC_0241 DSC_0244

That’s all for now, see you next month.
