August 2013 Report

Summer break has come to a end.  The boys are back at school and Kim and I are once again in an empty nest.  It was so nice to have the boys around for the summer.

Chayce and Kim ended their summer with a trip to Oregon.

Chayce went with his cousins to ride in the 6 Bridges ride around Portland.  While it was a fun ride, Chayce realized he needs to get exercising a bit more regularly :)

Brandon took a trip to New Jersey to finish up his break from school.  He spent time at the shore, visiting with friends, eating all his favorite NJ foods and took in a concert.

Brandon’s new apartment building.  He is on the 10th floor in the front right corner of this picture.  It is a newly constructed apartment complex right on edge of campus, in fact they were still finishing up some of the common areas as we were moving him in.

I don’t remember having this kind of luxurious living quarters, ever; let alone in college.

Kim and I decided to get away from the heat one weekend and take a drive to Prescott, AZ.  Our house is at an elevation of 2400’ and it was 103 when we left.  Prescott is at 5300’ and the temperature was a pleasant 75 most of the day.  It even dropped to 66 at one point when a thunder storm rolled through.  We both loved the downtown area “Whiskey Row” as well as the surrounding mountains.  The most amazing part is that it is only about 1 1/2 hour drive from our house.

That’s August, see you next month.

Gosh, I'm jealous of Bandon's digs. Prescott looks beautiful and unique. You're making me want to come for a visit. It was so fun to see Chayce and Kim in Oregon. What a great kid you've got!
