HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Hope you all had a great New Years Eve and that your new year is off to a good start.
We spent New Years Day doing what it was designed for, football and food. It was nice to have a relaxing day before work started again.
Uncle Thayne came through with some awesome tickets to the Fiesta Bowl (Oregon v. K-State) at the Last minute, so Chayce and I joined him and Chance for the game. We had a great time and it was an exciting game.
The boys returned to School on the 6th
For those of you who follow collectable cars, Kim indulged me and tagged along to visit the Barrett Jackson Auction. It is one of the biggest (if not the biggest) collectible car auctions in the world. 1000s of cars are sold over a week long event and boy there are some amazing cars. It was fun to look at them. I made a few bids on a car or two, but when it got over a million I backed off.
Couldn’t help myself, I had to capture this dudes hair… perhaps my next cut.
I was tempted to get a couple of these scooters for Chayce and Brandon.
Freeze
For weeks we watched some massive circus tents being erected near our place. It turned out to be the latest variation on a Cirque du Soleil show. It was called Cavalia Odysseo and it was a pretty impressive event. As you can see by the pictures the stares of the show are the horses and it was unbelievable what they had been trained to do. The stage and tent covering it was an impressive sight alone. If it comes your way it is worth going to see.
Wouldn’t you know, we move to AZ to enjoy the warm winters and we get there in time for the coldest winter in 30 years. We had 4 or 5 days of freezing temperatures overnight and a bunch of our plants had significant frost damage. We are hopeful they make a recovery in the spring.
While it was definitely cool during the day, we can’t complain as it was nothing compared to what we have experienced the past 15 years in NJ.
Here's to warmer days ahead
Have a great February!
