May Report

May finally felt a lot more like spring in NJ. We had some rain and cool days, but we also had plenty of sunny warm weather. The BBQ is working the lawn needs mowing again, ahh summer is on it's way!

Chayce had two proms to go to this month.

The first was the Mormon Prom, basically a multi stake dance for Jrs and Srs. Chayce went with a group of his friends and had a great time. This was the boys getting ready to dance.

Chayce also went to the High School Jr. Prom. From what little information we have been able to pry from the very private teenage brain it sounds like he had a good time. He and his date went with a group of friends. They all met at one of the girls homes to take pictures and so the parents could send the kids off in style. As you can see by the photos they had a pretty nice ride.

*************
Rob got out and did some golf, playing in a charity golf tournament. The forecast was for rain and it looked like it was going to be a wet miserable day the whole ride up to the course, but once the game started the sun came out and it turned into a very nice day. What could be better-golfing and work is paying for it.

*************
We went to a Cirque Du Soleil show in NYC. I guess based on this picture Kim and I enjoyed it more than the boys did. Oh-well I guess I can stop wasting money on them. It was a fun show and I'm always amazed what those folks can do.

*********
After a life-time of avoiding Jury Duty it looked like Rob's run was going to end. Both Rob and Kim received jury summons within days of each other. Rob was later informed he would not need to report, but Kim did and she was selected for a trial. She sat through an afternoon of testimony only to have the judge threw the case out. Oh-well.

Seminary is over for the year. Chayce and Brandon are very happy to have an extra hour of sleep in the morning now that seminary is done. It was a bit of a crazy year as they went through 3 teachers and two locations, but in spite of all the changes both boys went consistently. I have to admit is sure nice to have Chayce driving so I don't have to go.

***********
Grandpa and Grandma Ririe came for a visit this month and we had a nice time with them in spite of Chayce and Rob coming down with our version of the swine flu. We rented a house at the Jersey Shore and were all set for a nice relaxing weekend at the beach. In the days just prior to our trip both Rob and Chayce came down with the flu, but determined to have fun we packed up the car and headed out.

Grandpa and Brandon had a great time poking each other all week. I think Grandpa may have finally met his match.
Grandma making sure she doesn't get sun burned on the beach.

Grandpa and Grandma in front of the beach house in their "Medically" approved sun-glasses.
Everyone but Rob.... for some reason he wasn't smart enough to get the camera timer working. He is supposed to be in that open spot in the middle.
Brandon borrowing Grandma's glasses on the ride home.
Back at home Chayce is still suffering from the Swine Flu and Grandpa had brief stomach attack. At least they could comisserate together.
Well I guess thats enough for one posting. Hopefully June will also be lots of fun and we'll have plenty to report. Have a great month.

Fun Pictures. What a cute beach house. Looks like there are lots of fun things happening on the East Coast.
