June Report

School is finally out for the Jersey Boys and they couldn't be happier. It is nice for them to have a break from studying, but it doesn't seem like they are going to have much time to sit around and eat Bon Bons, that is if the first few weeks of summer are any indication.

The last day of school was Monday the 22nd and that evening Brandon had his first football practice. With the exception of a legally mandated "no contact" period at the end of July he has practices all summer long. The good news is that he is getting in great shape, just ask him and he will gladly give you a pose of his cut body.

Chayce and a few of his friends decided that going to scout camp for a week in the woods with no parents or work was a good idea. So off they went. They didn't do much in the way of scouting (the younger boys did that), but they had a good time and I don't think they got in too much trouble. I scheduled a work day from the car and Kim and I drove up for an evening to visit and it looked like in spite of the daily thunder showers, everyone was having fun.

After years of the three boys begging, Kim finally gave in and let us get a boat. It took a while to make the deal, but finally in June we became the owners of a ski boat. It has been lots of fun and in spite of a very wet June we have managed to get out and ski a lot. Both boys are getting pretty good. Brandon has gravitated to Wake Boarding and Chayce to Slalom skiing. It is amazing how fast a young strong teenager can learn and then get good at a new skill. It is fun to spend time out on the boat with them. We keep it on a lake that is 9 miles from the house so on just about any day we decide to go out skiing, we can jump in the car and within about 20 minutes we are out on the water skiing. So if any of you would like to come and spend some time on the lake, come for a visit.

July is off to a great start, full of activities, so hopefully I will have lots to report next month. Have a great summer.

I will have to say that I'm not surprised that you got a boat. It looks like so much fun. I will have to say that I am surprised that it took you this long.
