November Report

November started out mild and pleasant. The second half has turned much colder. For the most part pretty dry so no snow, that is until the very last day of the month, when we got a ton of rain and a very light dusting of snow. I guess that must mean winter is here or on its way. Regardless I'm pretty sure I'm not ready for it. The funny thing is, in spite of the mellow weather, I'm already feeling like I need a vacation to a tropical location. One of the guys who works for me just got back from St. Kitts and it sounded so nice, I guess I'm feeling jelious.

My company rented out a private room at the ESPN Zone in Mid-town (NYC) for a company party. It was nice because families were invited. The boys and I went in for the party, they had lots of good food and we each had a game card good for all the games you could play in 4 hours.

Kim came in via train a little later because she wasn't all that interested in watching multiple football games and playing tons of video games, go figure?? Kim and I left the boys at the ESPN Zone while we walked over to pick up tickets for a show. On our way we ran into the "Naked Cowboy". I tried to get Kim to pose with him for a picture, be she wasn't having anything to do with that, so I just took a picture for proof.
The boys wanted to go and see Monty Python's Spamalot, so that is what we did. It was an entertaining and funny show. The boys seemed to really get a kick out of it. It is based on the Monty Python movie "The Holy Grail" (one of our favorites), so it was a story we could easily get into.Pizza in NYC prior to the start of the show.

Brandon finished up Football this month. He had a great season and his team did excellent. They ended up 2nd in their division with a record of 6-3. Brandon had his best season ever in football and we are very proud of his hard work and dedication.

Brandon came home from school the first Monday after football ended and was all bummed out because he and is friends were already missing practice and being together with all their teamates. Says a lot to me about what a good job their coaches did to create a good experience for the boys.

The final game pictures are now available on line at -> http://randolphfroshfootball.shutterfly.com/

Stay tuned Basketball starts on Monday December 1.

I had a 2009 planning session for work in Atlantic City. We stayed at a new hotel called "The Water Club".

Why I felt compelled to tell you about this trip given that I travel all this time I'm not sure. I guess it is because being a big fan of Las Vegas it makes me laugh in an ironic sort of way when I go to AC. It is a city that wants so badly to be like LV, but it just comes up way short. Vegas is so over the top and everything is 1st class, AC comes off as a cheap imitation that is held together with duck tape and bailing wire. Oh-well I did have a good time, even if I didn't do so well at the tables.

Chayce spent a rainy Saturday helping a friend of his with his Eagle project. They did a bunch of work around the church. They cleaned out and painted a storage shed. It was a lot of work, but it sounded like they had fun doing it.

Happy Thanksgiving

The boys [Rob, Chayce & Brandon] got up early for a turkey bowl football game with a bunch of the guys from our ward. It was pretty cold, the ground was frozen and hard as a rock. Chayce ended up with a fat lip, Rob has a jammed finger and Brandon a bruised shin. Regardless it was a good way to start the day.

We didn't have any visitors for Thanksgiving this year so it was just our little family. While we did miss having grandparents or cousins around to visit with, we had a great time just relaxing and enjoying each others company. This is one of the reasons I like Thanksgiving so much, it is always such a relaxing holiday. So unlike Christmas.

Kim's homemade rolls, nothing better!

We couldn't drag them away from the table.

Hope you all had a nice holiday.

Kim had heard about a place in Kearny, NJ that makes authentic Scottish/British style fish and chips, so we braved the cold wet weather on the final day of our Thanksgiving weekend and went to check it out. Kearny was originally settled by the Scots so it has several Scottish, British and Irish establishments. We found the restaurant and all ordered the fish and chips. They were good and just to make it more authentic we had a gentleman with a nice Scottish accent sitting at the table next to us.

I tried to get everyone to try Haggis, but couldn't get any takers, including myself.

I guess the mad rush to get ready for Christmas begins. Have fun celebrating the Chirstmas season and we look forward to hearing about it in your December reports.

Merry Christmas.

Kim's rolls look yummy! It is fun to see the football pictures. Wish we could see the star in action.

If I had been there, I would have danced with the naked cowboy. And dedicated it to Brandon.
