February 2008
I was fortunate enough to start the month with a trip to Phoenix for some meetings (that’s not the fortunate part) and was able to combine it with some golf (that’s the good part). The weather there was on the cool side for Arizona, but it was still nice and it felt great to get out on the golf course and play. I have a feeling a condo in Arizona could be in my future, let’s just hope Kim buys into that idea.
Both Chayce and Brandon have been playing a lot of basketball this month. They are on teams for the town and have also been playing on the church’s team. Unfortunately the church ball isn’t as organized as I would like, but regardless they enjoy playing and it’s good the church is doing it. In years past they didn’t have any church ball around here.
Brandon had his 14th birthday this month. Sometimes he seems so much older then 14 and then other times he still feels like a little boy to me. Regardless they grow up way to fast. We went out to dinner at Chili’s (because he loves getting a Chocolate Molten Cake for dissert and proving he can eat it all himself). I made some comment on the way in about it being his birthday and wouldn’t you know it they overheard and did the wait staff rendition of Happy Birthday much to his embarrassment. He turned a very dark red and threatened to never forgive me. If you know my family, you know we hate it when restaurants do that, so it embarrassed him, but the rest of us got a good laugh out of it, not to mention that the Molten was on the house.
We had two snow storms this month that dumped a fare amount of snow and we have had some pretty cold weather with it, so much for global warming. I’m hoping we are done with cold weather and that it will start warming up soon.
I was talking with a guy I work with and his family took a trip up to Montréal last week. He was telling me about the dog sledding place they went to and that it was his kids favorite part of their whole trip. I mention it because I noticed that there were a couple of dog sledding options for shore excursion on our cruise this summer so you may want to consider it as an option.
Have a great March.
